Yo No Soy Mi Mamá

Set in a traditional immigrant household in suburban Portland, Oregon, during the early 2000s, the film follows Ale, a 15-year-old Mexican-American emo teenager. Ale attempts to navigate the balance between traditional family values and forging her own identity through music, culminating in her rebellion against her mother's strict religious rules just to attend a concert by her favorite band.
