Friday

Terms of Use

Effective September 20, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of Friday, the movie and TV rating and social service available at letswatchonfriday.com and through our apps (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2. The Service

Friday lets you rate and rank movies and TV shows, build a taste profile, receive personalized recommendations, see where titles are available to stream, follow friends, and message other members. The Service is free today; we may introduce paid features in the future, and we’ll tell you before anything you use starts costing money.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Friday. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any registration information you provide is accurate.

4. Your account

You’re responsible for your account and everything that happens under it. Keep your sign-in credentials secure, and let us know right away at team@letswatchonfriday.com if you suspect unauthorized use. One person per account; don’t impersonate anyone or pick a username that misleads people about who you are.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create on Friday — your ratings, rankings, reviews, comments, lists, profile, photos, and messages. By posting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and improve the Service — for example, showing your ratings and reviews to your followers or on your public profile page.

Remember that Friday is social by design: your profile, ratings, reviews, comments, public lists, and follow relationships are visible to other members, and your profile page can be viewed by anyone with the link. Messages are visible to the participants of the conversation.

You’re responsible for what you post. Profile photos are screened automatically before they’re shown, and we may hide any content while we review a report about it.

6. Acceptable use

When using Friday, you agree not to:

  • Break the law or encourage others to.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other members, or post content that is hateful, obscene, or defamatory.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Send spam, run bots, scrape the Service, or access it by any automated means without our written permission.
  • Probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to access accounts or data that aren’t yours.
  • Reverse engineer or copy the Service or its content except as permitted by law.

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We may remove violating content and suspend or terminate offending accounts at any time, without notice.

Reporting. If you encounter content or behavior that violates these rules, use the Report option in the app — it’s available on profiles, reviews, comments, lists, and messages — or email us at team@letswatchonfriday.com. We review every report and act within 24 hours, which may include removing the content and ejecting the person who posted it.

Blocking. You can block any member from their profile or a conversation. Blocking hides their profile, ratings, reviews, comments, and messages from you and yours from them, and stops them from following or messaging you. You can unblock at any time from Settings.

7. Third-party content and services

Movie and TV metadata (titles, posters, credits, and related information) comes from third-party sources including TMDB and OMDb. Friday uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. Streaming availability information is provided for convenience and may be incomplete or out of date — check with the streaming service before relying on it. Links to third-party services (streaming platforms, social networks) are governed by those services’ own terms.

8. AI features

Recommendations and AI-generated responses (like asking @Friday what to watch) are produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. They’re suggestions, not guarantees — use your own judgment.

9. Giveaways

We occasionally run giveaways, such as free movie tickets. Giveaways may be subject to additional rules presented when you enter, are void where prohibited, and require no purchase. We may modify or cancel a giveaway at any time before winners are selected.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service — including the Friday name, logo, design, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms don’t grant you any right to use our branding, and you may not copy or reuse parts of the Service except as these terms allow.

11. Termination

You can stop using Friday at any time, and you can delete your account from Settings in the app (or by emailing team@letswatchonfriday.com). Deleting your account removes your profile, ratings, reviews, comments, lists, and messages from the Service. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like your content license for content already shared, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive it.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content (including recommendations and streaming availability) is accurate or complete.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent any liability is not legally excludable, our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

14. Changes to the Service or these terms

Friday is evolving, and features may change, be added, or be removed. We may also update these terms; if we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in New York.
